Agent Olga Lavalle’s heartfelt approach to real estate is apparent in every way she conducts her business—she’s even made the purple Jacaranda flowers that remind her of Mexico and her family part of her website’s logo. Elliman Insider sat down with Olga to find out everything from the personal mantra that guides her, to why choosing Elliman was the opportunity for her to become her own person.
Elliman Insider: When did you know that real estate was your calling?
Olga Lavalle: When I moved here in 2003, It was something that came natural to me. My mother had already been a top agent in Coronado and it had been our second home since the early 80s.
EI: You used to be editor of Max. How has your editorial experience helped your current real estate career?
OL: I went to London to get representation from Maxim, which was denied, so I decided to create and launch Max under the same concept in Mexico. From television to magazines and entertainment, the editorial and marketing experience that I learned from working in media has become instrumental in being a real estate agent. I am always trying to satisfy what my audience is looking for.
EI: What is your biggest challenge as a real estate agent?
OL: I don’t see it as a challenge, but more of a mission to always try to help my buyers and sellers achieve what they are searching for.
EI: Do you live by a personal mantra or favorite saying?
OL: “Allow things to fall into place.” When I get overwhelmed or overworked, I just think that everything needs a process and I trust it.
EI: Why did you choose Elliman?
OL: Oh, I could not tell you enough how much it meant to me. I was invited by a former co-worker from another brokerage and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have grown and flourished as a person and as an agent in Elliman. It was the opportunity to be my own person.
EI: How has Elliman upped your real estate game?
OL: I learn from their leaders every day. I really love the business culture.
EI: Any advice for new agents?
OL: Work hard and be a good communicator.
EI: Where can we find you when you are not working?
OL: At the park playing with our dogs, walking on the Coronado Beach, watching a movie, having coffee by The San Diego Bay, enjoying dinner with my husband, kids, family or friends and working around our home.
